Context: I have done a bit of downhill mountain biking and general mountain biking in the past but never any bmx or dirt jumping.
A work mate who used to race bmx in his youth has persuaded me to get a gorgeous s and m atf 24 inch cruiser with the aim to enter a few races and have a laugh out and about on them.
Only issue is I feel very self conscious like it’s a full on mid life crisis plus I am totally crap on it!!

Well at least the rubber side is down
Don’t be self conscious, no one is judging unless you’re being an a-hole!
It seems to stay true at almost every park that you’re usually the only person worried about you. As mentioned above, as long as you’re not being an asshole or doing something to stand out, nobody is judging you or paying attention. Enjoy the process and have fun.
I’m 56, overweight, seriously out of shape and half the strength I once was. I raced BMX when I was you and did downhill mountain biking up until 2002. I barely rode a bike for the last 22 years. I recently bought a gt pro series 26″ just relearn wheelies and cruise around on. Have fun.
I’m 58 but fairly fit. BMX is great exercise, but start off slow.
Just do it homie! Have fun, be safe.
What front hub is that??
