If you can coast (Like goin downhill without pedaling) its single speed, if you must always pedal, is fixed.

Looks like is a flip flop hub so one side is fixed, the other is single speed: you can flip the wheel as you please.

Best thing you should install a rear brake.

From the photo hard to tell if crankset is cheap, maybe ride this month and check if the gear is ok for your legs or for your city, see if is too hard or too short, then change it, or keep that.

    People say, ride and learn!

  2. Imo, Upgrade your contact points like pedals, seat and handlebars first to maximize comfort. You should certainly get pedals with some foot retention and get a proper wheelset.

I had a second hand pure fix a while back. None of the parts are very high quality. It’s a good starter bike and as you ride more, you’ll want nicer things.

  3. Find some bars that you love the look and feel of. Drops or bullhorn have lots of different hand positions but wide risers have the best control. Then save up and buy an expensive seat!! Your butt will thank you. First things first I would get foot retention, either cages and or straps

Just ride it, brother. Ride it for a year, save up, and build it exactly how you want. Don’t dump money into that thing. Just don’t.

  5. Just ride the thing, learn on it. Figure out what you like and don’t like. Go from there. Foot retention is a requirement so definitely pick up some straps. If the seat is uncomfortable have a play with seat height and set back first before changing it. Change up the free options first before spending money

Haven’t read through everything but definitely get some pedal straps and a helmet.

Get some foot retention and flip the wheel. Holdfast straps should be fine with those pedals
