I ride indoors with the windows and doors shut, next to the air purifier on full blast, AC on.
If I absolutely have to ride outdoors (e.g. for work and there’s no alternative), a P95 respirator and vented goggles.
I have a 3M 7502 respirator (+ the aforementioned goggles) that I normally use with woodworking or when working with VOCs (varnishing and the like) – different filters.
I’ve tested riding with the respirator before sometime during the lockdown years (this was sometime 2020 and the few public health guidelines just came down to mask up and stay away from people), just to see how it felt. It’s not terrible so long you don’t have an elevated respiratory rate, so that necessarily means keeping it to a reasonably low effort. Sweated up a storm after just 10-15 minutes though.
