My ride home is about 4 miles, but I’ve been stretching it out to get in better shape and to build up for some bikepacking trips.
This afternoon it was 107°, with 12 mph headwind, and 10 miles was enough.
The heat reflecting off the asphalt was more unpleasant than the ambient temperature.

Drink plenty of water and be careful until you’re accustomed to riding in that heat!
