Picked this frame up for a whole £10 today, just because I liked the colour and it was there and well, who doesn’t need another frame, right? 🤪
Not all that knowledgeable about Marin bikes, but I believe this is a mid tier frame, and I’m guessing mid 90’s?
Anyone tell me more about it? I’ll put more pics in the comments below.

Marin triple-butted Tange cro-mo is considerably better than mid-tier I would say. As long as it isn’t damaged in some way I would consider £10 a steal.
What does it weigh?
Edit: Could be just the picture but the seat tube looks a bit misshapen at the collar there. Check that when you go to install a seat post.
Whoever welded that frame did a fantastic job. I’ve seen other Muirwoods from that era, none were welded like that.
It’s a 97! https://www.retrobike.co.uk/gallery2/v/Manufacturer+Archive/Marin/Catalogues/Marin+Catalogue+1997/25+Muirwoods.jpg.html
You’ve got something really special.
Marginally related to this specific post, is there a general preference here on rust repair, with or without 80s fabulous stickers and paint schemes? Blast and respray? Rust converter and nail polish? Put another sticker over it?
