You mean dogpacking? No. But if I had a dog my entire personality would become being a dogpacker.

You dog looks she is about to suggest a wild scheme to save the family business.

  3. Check out https://dogpacking.com if you haven’t already.

The site is run by John Freeman, who is an experienced dogpacker. He and his dog Mira have even done the Tour Divide route together. There are lots of helpful tips on the site on how to get started, etc. I would also recommend looking them up on YouTube and searching various podcasts.

  4. I do dog packing with our border terrier! She sits in a basket on my front pizza rack! I’ve also seen people use trailers for bigger dogs!

    Some tips!
    – Decent breaks for off bike bathroom and walking stops.

    – A dog jumper depending on the weather, you’re moving but they are not.

    – Extra food if they are doing extra exercise!

    – Toddler sleeping bags are way cheaper than dog specific ones!

    – Probably do a trial test on all items, we built up to a multi day trip, by trying bike rides, and shaking in tents etc.

Do ask more specific questions if it can help!

Come check out r/dogpacking! The pinned post is curated list I’ve made with links to a TON of resources on dogpacking, including links out to multiple interviews on the topic with the biggest advocates of dogpacking, John and Mira from [OmniTierra](https://www.youtube.com/c/OmniTierra) (and from their appearances alongside Ryan van Duzer on some of his adventures).

Some of the resources talk about baskets/racks for carrying your dog, logistics of carrying extra food, managing their running mileage, all that. And once you’ve done a trip, please feel free to share your experience back on the subreddit! We want to encourage more folks to take their pups on their trips.
