Hi,
I would appreciate any help on the following problem: as you can see in the video, the alignment of the nexus hub is not correct after shifting up and down, even though it started aligned. Sometimes it will randomly get back to being aligned. This problem came out of the blue for me. I already reassembled the cassette joint but it didnt help. Also tried to see if there is a problem with the cable but could not see anything as the cable is wired through the frame. Im using a Revoshift lever for shifting.

It’s likely time for a new cable and housing. Since it’s routed internally, check the old one for kinks, especially if it’s an ebike and the cable routed near, and possibly pinched by, the motor.
Are the anti-turn lock washers installed? I can’t tell from this video.
A few thoughts:
1) some times cassette joint units just get old and sad. A new 8S20 cassette joint is, like, $12
2) agreement with others about cakes and housing being an issue. Specifically the barrel adjuster is pretty far out, so that could be the source of some squiggliness
3) when was the last oil bath? It seems more cable or cassette joint to me from the video, but maybe a pawl or pinion isn’t retracting like it should.
