Basically the title. Got a new Orbea Terra M30Team and after taking it out of the package, the first thing I noticed was the "dull" spotty finish on the seat tube. I tried cleaning it, without any success and stopped the unboxing at that point
The bike shop put in a leaflet that everything was checked + test ride.

Normal? Easy to get rid of? Reason to send back?

Any input welcome. Thanks 🙏

what color did you order? what you have is clear coated carbon, you are seeing the various carbon weave layers

This is normal. This is what modern carbon fiber layup looks like under any paint. This is a “raw carbon” finish with glitter and a clear coat. Looks great.

This is typical for carbon. I could find similar images by looking up the bike model on the interwebs.

I sell these, people always come over and wipe the frames thinking the finish is smudged 😂

  5. Also, once you’ve removed all the packing materials, wipe the frame down with a soft, lint-free cloth (a microfiber dusting/polishing cloth is ideal). If you have a little frame wax, use it. I think you’ll be pleased with how your new bike shines with the raw carbon layup showing through. 🙂

  6. Normal new way of selling a cheap finish as if it was cool and premium. Bike industry is clever.
