Had a free day and decided to give the 36 mile Barry Roubaix course a shot. Was feeling great afterwards, so I grabbed some more food and water and headed out on the 18 mile course. Still felt fine, so did some more to hit a metric century. Most of my riding is on my lunch break, so I can’t normally do more than about 20 miles.
Super happy with how everything felt – my feet are a little achy, but I didn’t have the same foot pain I’ve been struggling with for a few years, and no hand numbness. Just had to lower my saddle about 1/4″ lower than it was put at my bike fit (which already brought it down about 3/4” from where I was riding).
I think I’ll sign up for the 62 mile Barry Roubaix next spring.
After starting serious cycling in Upstate NY on super technical and rocky MTB trails where you’re happy to hit 10 miles, never thought I’d be feeling pretty fresh after 60.
