I have a couple carbon fiber dork discs (including the last one made by the Canadian company who sold them), one of which has saved my bacon on a muddy ride by stopping my seized derailleur from going into the spokes — I’ll defend its dorkiness for as long as I ride!

I could see how a dork disk might make sense on a gravel/off-road bike. But on a road bike? NO, well unless it’s carbon fiber and has bluetooth with notifications turned on. ;^p
