maybe cz aventon stopped making regular bikes completely? well, at least the cordoba has omnium cranks which are quite expensive standalone. that 4k model is just bonkers though.

  2. Chicago is flooded with those. They put some ok or decent components on it and think bike is worth $800.

  3. IMO quality-wise, Aventon are about the same as Tsunami. These “aero” tubes and seatpost are corny af. No idea why these prices are so inflated.

I can’t quite figure out why, but for some weird reason, a certain subset of the fixed community has started fetishizing Aventon. I can only assume they are younger people that have no idea how shit the bikes actually are.

I have one, the low version. I got it for hella cheap a few years back after my previous fixed gear was stolen. It rides decent, handles ok and all but it def had some creaks from the BB shell…that all being said, I don’t really mind abusing it because of the low cost and I think that’s the way anyone should treat this brand of bike rather than high value and revenance. It’s supposed to be an entry level beat it up bike.

  6. I ride new Mataro (better one w/ aero seatpost) on a velodrome — it’s mediocre but rides just fine for a training aluminum frame
