It’s a proud moment in sports for Africans.
Eritrea’s Biniam Girmay (@biniam_girmaye_hailu_ on IG and @GrmayeBiniam on X) became the first Black African to win a stage of the Tour de France on 1 July in Turin, Italy. And, as you’ll see, he was pretty emotional.
But why has it taken so long for Africans to excel in international cycling? Prejudice and colonial history have played their part. Here’s our quick tour of the bumpy road African cyclists have endured.
P.S.: Africans have debated who might be the first among us to win a Tour de France stage. It boils down to two possibilities. Some say it should go to Algerian-born French citizen Marcel Molines, who won a stage in 1950 representing a colony then called ‘French North Africa.’ Others give the accolade to white South African Robert Hunter, who claimed a victory in 2007.

Congratulations, but I'm not impressed.
Africans should create their own institutions, their own competitions, and stop complaining about "racism". Racism is a normal human behavior, and will never end.
So, be wise, create your own institutions and I will be impressed, and proud of you.

Also in 2013 2915 visa was not given to Eritrean riders. The umpire keeps imposing sanctions on our country and athletes.

Former American professional cyclist Tyler Hamilton then accused Voigt in the fall of 2012 of stabbing him in the back when it came to doping education and said that Voigt's statement was the most ridiculous thing he had read in his life."
Look at the numbers with what times they win/won to the main field, it's not hours or 10's of minutes, seconds, a few minutes at best. And then you look how many of the teams got found out, etc.
Tour de France is one big Doping scandal, everyone does it nobody talks about it.
There are no white Africans.. colonizers
