The inner pad adjuster on my rear calliper seized so I replaced it with this TRP Spyre calliper. It came with new pads and I replaced the rotor for good measure.
It seems to have bolted up and adjusted fine but it is curiously weak compared to the Promax setup that came off.. It can barely lock up the rear wheel and offers little confidence when braking with my hands on top of the hoods.
Is there something I’m missing? I thought this would be a more powerful calliper because of it’s dual piston design.

I have the same brakes and they’re amazingly powerful. I never liked the stock pads and replaced them with Shimano resin pads. I don’t know if there’s a secret to setting them up any better than normal mechanical brake instructions.
Are those the “resin pads only” Shimano rotors? Those aren’t very grabby either.

Are you using compressionless housing for those cables?

Have you bedded them in? Can make a big difference.
Sand the rotor, light sand on the pads, clean off & go for a short bedding in ride.

Did you follow the instructions for cabling up a Spyre? You need to pre-load the actuation arm to get good starting cable tension
