Look at the sales they have going on right now. There are some complete builds close to that price range brand new. I’d use that to negotiate.

What is tire clearance on rear. Sucks to shell out a nice chunk of change on a frame and you realize you are limited by clearance. The parts can be upgraded over time.

as someone not familiar with lynskey frames, are the rear dropouts actually swappable?

  4. He should have sold it 6 or 7 years ago if he wanted a decent price for it. You could offer him 1200, but I think you’re better off looking for a bike with more modern fitment. Just my 2c

  5. Idk, seems like a very meh bike for 2k. 135 spacing is really outdated, older Ultegra by two generations. This frame has got to be like 10 years old. I just don’t think it is really worth that price, IMO.

  6. Buying quick release bike is buying an technology no longer considered to be an industry standard.

You can make it work, of course.

I got a 2019 Pro GR with GRX for $2k in 2019. Wouldn’t touch frame without TA these days.
