i kinda like the first more. The wind noise isn’t distracting so much as adding atmostphere imho. both are great, so it’s not a big deal either way.

I liked the second one much better with low volume on iPhone.

Prefer the second. Now all you need is twenty layers of sound design on top of it haha.

The DIY one is clearly more effective. Torn on ‘better’.

Overall I like the 2nd one better , you hear the trail noise more clearly , and the wind noise at 1 isnt loud enough to provide an additional perception of speed or cover the trail noise .
If you really really want go pro , mic the tires and then sync it up in post 🎬

In the second one I hear more trail noise, in the first one it’s easier to hear your breathing. There’s something about hearing people riding fast but breathing hard that’s reassuring. I suppose there’s a point where people can get so stylish that everything looks super relaxed and you forget that speed is physically demanding?
I love when the World Cup XC riders get close enough to the cameras that I can hear them gasping, it makes me feel better about myself when I’m dying on a climb.

Either is fine to me.

The less wind noise the better in my opinion.

Definitely first one. Captures more highs without wind buffeting. More sharp and punchy.

What camera? If it’s a go pro what are your settings?

The real question is which one would muffle my loud ass breathing.
