I have a 1971 Austro Daimler that I’m concerting to SS/Fixed. The frame is pretty cloudy but no rust. I’m not having much luck with polishing the paint.
Is it a lost cause at this point? Seems like I should be able to get it somewhat glossy again.
*Please ignore my lazy Ethernet run.

You could try a chrome billet polisher. Find it in the automotive aisle. I’ve only used it to clear up foggy headlights. I’m guessing it may work on steel also.
Polishing or rubbing compound on a microfiber cloth. Automotive section will have it.
If you’re patient enough, you can try what Spindatt did – wetsand the whole thing and then polish it afterwards. https://youtu.be/UqXQUUbuv3Q?si=dl2GScfhRmzV351H
Light sanding (ideally wet sanding), then a quality clear coat applied in light thin coats.
