I used to have a dynamo just like that one! (The gizmo just in front of the front brake caliper, for those unfamiliar with one.)
It would toggle “on” to put pressure on the side of the tire and was its own little generator. Obviously it didn’t work when you were stopped, and if it was icy at all, the slush from the road would make it slip – so it would occasionally strobe…

So glad we LEDs now… the lumens are incomparable!
