It’s a big frame but I also ride an XL 26’er at 5’9, and have for most of my life. Nothing wrong with that.
I prefer to have a big frame, if it makes any sense I enjoy “riding the bike” and not taking it for a ride. Always felt more comfortable and in control this way, some of the worst times cycling have been on an appropriately sized road bike where I just feel all over the place standing up and putting down the power.
I’ve heard this is how road bikes were sized back in the day, with very little seat post showing. I’ve taken an old early 80’s road frame, thrown 26” fgfs rims on it and it’s a staple to my collection.

Where is that trail? It looks like California. I used to ride in Fryman Canyon every day, and this looks like that. Maybe I’m just missing riding there. Love the “Do not ride, walk or carry bicycles” sign. Peace.
