Hey guys, just wondering what everyone else brings along besides water of course?
For me its:
– inner tube
– co2 canister
– hex key to get the wheels off
– co2 head (inside tube)
– a few patches (also in the inner tube)
– tire irons

I bring the same on a short ride as I do on a long ride. Why would you leave stuff at home for a shorter ride?
Pump, tire levers, two tubes, 2 oz bottle of Stans, Stans Dart, multi-tool, valve-core removal tool, quick link, Clif Bar (with wrapper available as a tire boot). The second tube is probably overkill as I rarely get flats and the Stans Dart worked as advertised on the only flat I got over the past several years.

I bring the same tube kit regardless of length. I will ADD an extra tube and extra CO2 or hand pump if out of Uber/cell phone range or on trails.

Multitool (crank bros m19), pump mounted under my down tube (topeak mini morph G), wolftooth chain pliers with spare master links, tube, tire levers, all in my saddle bag
In my top tube bag I’ve got gels and clif bars (longer rides only) plus a battery pack for my phone that’s mounted to my handle bars using a peak design out front mount. I use my phone as my GPS, speedometer and trip odometer so the battery pack is necessary.

My bike bag always has a tube, tire irons, patch kit, CO2 inflator or mini pump depending on whether I’m running tubeless or not, a multitool with a chain tool. There’s been two times in my life as a cyclist where I’ve needed a chain tool. I don’t want there to be a third. I also carry a tire patch like the thick rubber piece to patch actual major tear. Also, I carry a wet wipe, a $20 bill, and a couple large Band-Aids.

That depends heavily on where you ride. If you are in a remote area with no cell service you probably need to bring more than in a city.

Normally I’ll bring a multi tool, co2 inflater with 2 co2s, a couple patches and a plug tool and a spare tube tube and I have an on bike pump so I can leave the co2 at home but it’s all in a little pouch do I don’t, I also carry a first aid kit with me but this is also the same kit I carry for longer rides, but I know I’m probably mildly paranoid about getting into trouble.

Single lever, co2 or mini pump (depending on route), dynaplug, comprehensive multi tool, tpu tube, axs battery, tiny piece of wire, master link, mech hangar, gloves, couple stickers, $20. This shit all lives in my top tube bag pretty much all the time.
On my road bike: dynaplug, co2, simple multitool.
Also obviously food, water, phone, nicotine.

Depends. I bring a full basic repair kit when going to remote area. But when cycling around urban or suburb, a phone is enough. I can always call my so for emergency pickup or order ride sharing service.
My basic repair kit:

I’m less weight-focused than a lot of people on this sub, so I bring:
– Two water bottles
– Pump (mounted next to the water bottle)
– bike computer
– phone (on Quad Lock mount)
In my front rack back that I rarely take off:
– Wallet and keys
– multitool
– tire plugs
– that same pocket often also has a phone-sized battery power bank and cable
– cable lock (if I feel like that’s insufficient I don’t let my bike out of my sight)
– warm layers (weather can change fast in the Bay Area)
– snacks
There’s a pizza place/beer garden that’s a good stop toward the end of a big ride (but still 10-ish miles from home) and they only sell whole large-ish pies so I’m often taking leftovers home from there in the rack bag, too.

My hipbag or framebag always contains:
compact and light pump, multitoolspare tpu + patches, Spare link, spare derailleur hanger, spare Garmin stem bolt mount, one tissue, few ziplocks, phone, tyre lever
Everything except phone is as light as manufactures do these days, pump weights nothing, hanger is small, Garmin mount is like 2 grams… So I just pack all of it since that’s my experience that I destroyed those parts riding MTB, less hassle on the road bike but I got it packet anyway. Those my essentials and I add stuff if needed for longer rides.

I have a saddle bag that holds a spare tube, a multi tool that can adjust anything on my bike and has tire levers, and a CO2. I also have a mini pump mounted on the frame that I usually use, the CO2 is just for riding with groups so they don’t have to wait for me.
