Was replacing my tire and when I removed the axle, I saw that it had some marks on it. Anyone know what it's called when this happens and how does one prevent further damage to the axle?

It seems like you’re bearing is locked? This shouldn’t be happening since the bearing is designed to spin the inner ring while the outer ring remains stationary. Either that or misalignment or perhaps even overloading the bike? Im just thinking out loud tbh.
Grease it up.
Mine looks worse than that, I should probably get a new one at some point.
Nothing lasts forever and it’s only made of aluminium.
