GT means grand tour which means it was made foe long distance racing not short curcuit racing.
You also have to remember that the circuit makes a big difference

The grip they’ve got is next level
Breaking in F1 is 6G force, literally pulling your eye balls out. Cornering is 4-5G force, ripping the head off. F1 drivers have strongest necks than any other sportsmen and sweat out 2 liter of water during the 1.5 hour race. They are loosing 2-3 kg (4.5-6.5 pounds) weight during the race by sweat snd physical struggle.
