      A non disc rack isn’t meant for a disc bike… It’s obviously too narrow.

      I have a different rack (Tumbleweed T-rack) and had the same issue. Like someone else said in another comment, I filled the gap with washers. I have the same bike and just put on 2,500 km on gravel, tarmac and some heavy single track and everything was ok. I also bought good quality bolts and the longer ones that fit to make it more bombproof. I hope I did the right thing 😛

      I asked Canyon about this and they couldn’t tell me why the carrier doesn’t fit, even though it’s pretty obvious. The only carriers I know of that fit are the “EVO” models from Tubus.

      Number one rule for racks, if it doesn’t fit somehow make it fit (in this case use washers).

      Yea I worked in a bike shop on and off for a few years, and the head mechanic had me changing flats, cleaning bikes, and installing rack and fenders. He showed me the bolt bucket and said “be a mechanic and make it work” 😂

      So I’ll say this: if you think you can see it through, bend, hammer, pry, wedge whatever will get you there. You might break it. Be ok with that or hand it off to someone else.

      As others have suggested, washer sound like a great place to start, then I’d consider taking it off and giving it a little encouragement to take the shape it’s in once the nuts are tight. That will out less stress in weird ways on the rack & nut and you’ll probably be less likely to strip a thread.

      Space it out with a Delrin washer, not metal. Use lock tight on the bolt, you can find Delrin washers at big box hardware stores, if anything a little too thick is better than too thin. Delrin sands easy if you need to thin it down a little. Your not gonna bend that tab on the rack to fit. Use stainless steel bolts and nuts. Locktite.

      I bought a pack of m5 spacers. They work great and there’s different sizes. Comes in handy on the ol’ 26er with round tube.

      There’s also smaller 10 piece sets
