I’ve had this conundrum for a while now. I nearly always run a bar bag of some sort that takes up handlebar real estate so I can’t run a light there. I have a Paul Gino fork light mount that works well but the light is obscured by the tire and it casts a big shadow. I’ve seen dynamo lights mounted here and I don’t know if they make mounts for bigger front lights like a Fenix BC26R or something similar. Can you think of anything that available and well made?

  1. I use a Fenix BC30, and bought [this](https://klickfix.com/en/products/detail/variants/1647) for similar reasons.

I’m disappointed with it, to be honest but I got one for $5 so I’m not mad. It’d be awesome for a smaller light, but the BC30’s heavy. The plastic bar is also small so you may need to wrap it with tape to bulk it up if you don’t have the rubber inserts for the clamp.

I’m looking at [this](https://www.planetbike.com/fork-mount-bike-headlight-bracket/) as an alternative but if it doesn’t pan out I’m gonna probably throw some money at the problem in frustration and get the gucci-est solution possible.

  2. Have you considered placing the headlight on the side of the fork, if you have such mounts? It also works well, and placing the headlight lover highlights potholes even better, as they cast a shadow.

I have a B&M Lumotec IQ Eyro which is fine for in town with the benifit of fancy optics so I’m not blinding oncomming traffic.

  4. There are battery-powered lights for this placement. They do still cast a shadow, but they tend to be somewhat higher mounted, so the shadow isn’t that bad. They usually have better lighting pattern than torches.
