Hello, does anyone have a problem with the Brompton hub gears, my shifter is stuck in 3rd and won’t shift down to 2nd without forcing the lever, the bike is only 12 months old, when I spoke to Brompton they told all the drivetrain needs to be replaced has anyone experienced this?

If you move the indicator chain by hand, does the hub shift?
Edit: but also, isn’t this all warranty?
The drive train would only need replacement if your two speed wasn’t working and all other fixes didn’t work.
Your three speed is for the internally geared hub. No idea why they would tell you it’s the drive train.
Are you in a particularly humid area, or have you stored the bike in a humid space like a car trunk? The plastic shifters can swell in some rare circumstances and act up.
Also, have you had any repair work done to the bike, had your tune up after the cables stretched, or just generally tinkered around?
Last round of questions: do you stop pedaling when shifting your three speed and are your gear/brake cables in the correct configuration?
