Riding my T-Line in Nottingham, we cross the original north south divide and make tea with the OEX Hero

good morning everyone welcome to another video we’re down in Nottingham I’m out for a bit of a Tarmac fix on the bromton T line we start I’m starting at the war memorial it’s a start of man a bike ride we came in the park to look at the uh cherry blossom didn’t we all the Blossom on the trees that’s Queen Victoria presiding over the fountains and the memorial bit of a a Tac Adventure on the tal line a Tarmac fix a bit of urban fix for me there’s River Trent over there heading down you probably can’t see on the GoPro heading down to Trent Bridge boats tents encamp encampment for homeless people always along the river these days and uh oh it’s election Resort day I’ll make my daily blog at some point soon so let’s go and have a ride on the teal line [Applause] certainly back in its natural environment I just bear with me while I pass in the bag there we go I made a hash of that didn’t I I got the Riverside little Riverside de cathon bag here right let’s go for toot along the river there some of Nottingham’s finest effing and blinding along here a minute ago Nottingham’s got lime bikes you’ll see some on the on the right as we go along here before go over the suspension bridge nice to park for change right here we go over the suspension bridge just digging in view over the river or up the river under view oh maybe that’s s the river it’s FL towards us that’s down the river love locks on the uh or memory locks probably not love locks probably memory locks as much as anything else that’s so towards West bridgeford we’re going to drop onto the side of the river then we’ll I’ll pause to turn you off before we uh carry on the merry way and I’ll bring you back later on there’s the suspension bridge you see the more Memorial through the arch right we’ll go a bit further we’re getting back to a another Trent Crossing now the tollbridge could be the Wilford tollbridge seems to ring a bell back in the day when you had to pay to get over the river Trent or risk your life paddling across the river Trent now a a tram line that’s a we have a Trent again both ways can’t remember there’s a memorial of the other side I can’t remember who it is I I know if it’s Wellington or not here’s a toll house now a little cafe so I read it rather than photo film it the Wilford Bridge Act of 1862 it’s a bit like uh what was saying in Lincolnshire yesterday sort of50 years ago 200 years ago probably now getting on four you had to pay to get to these places and you had to pay here’s the tram coming you had to pay to get across the river Trent my belief is River Trent is the original north south divide in the country people say the Watford Gap and all that but this this was a divide purely by the fact to cross it you had to pay and going back 200 years ago I guess people didn’t have the money to squander on a on a river crossing indeed over the other side over here there is a morg for people that didn’t pay and lost their lives that’s uh we’ve had that on one of our Nottingham his history tours I’m turning around to go the to go across here cuz here in Nottingham we have a new standard for cycle route we have green we have green cycle route we don’t anywhere else in the country but hey ho be different in Nottingham what we’re going to do then is we’ll head off down through The Meadows heading towards the city and uh I think we have a couple somewhere i’ got to make my daily Vlog Chine Dr some T line 12 speed I may have mentioned how good they are in previous videos right kids about I have to go home we just saw loose the heading into The Meadows now had to stop filming a minute ago because kids were coming out to school this is a area that’s been dramatically transformed since the days of it well I was going to say of what it well it wasn’t it wasn’t particularly good place I think the housing was the housing stock wasn’t good right with problems sorry man okay dude no problem very quiet zigzag barriers I don’t know if that’s because this is oh yeah no I know why it is so welcome to Meadows West on the tram stop let get a get across the road and do a b more so that’s Castle Business Park ahead sheds of sheds of nothingness I’ll bring you back later on [Music] I think we’re at the uh southern end of the dunker flyover everyone going on their Journeys that’s Aston Martin That’s pass John play to get Factory we came through the underpass remember the on pass earlier in the year when it’s been full of uh sewage sat Baines has got his restaurant down there anyway we ride on we’ve been here before we at the Science Park notum Science Park Nature Reserve there bit too Breezy to make a a brew here so I think we’ll slip across the road into highfields Park you have to keep an eye out for these ramps make sure you come down the ramp not like one of our gang did I missed the ramp and bumped down the uh the drop as it were I think that was the last one actually and one here at the entrance [Music] just like I’m doing here beautiful place University of Nottingham here your pop over there and uh we have a brew hello I’ve stopped to make some tea at we’re here opposite High fields or high field or high Fields I’m not sure house now part of uh the Nottingham Nottingham University and highfields lake and the Lakeside Pavilion and all sorts of stuff going on here anyway I thought I’d stop and make a cup of tea and um make my daily Vlog as well so let me find somewhere to perch you all you guys maybe on the wall here don’t know if this will work or not have no idea what can you see there not a lot let me til you down maybe you can see there so we’ll we’ll have a cup of tea use the oex hero stove pretty cool bit of Kit you have seen it I’m sure you’ve seen it Ox hero stove it’s been tributed to with an inch of its life on the YouTube by various Outdoorsman’s types I on your cup of tea and uh I’m having a cup of going the water we’ll drop a bit of water in there first about that much precisely measured out maybe not how do we do this let’s get this reasonably level I don’t know drop the lid on the floor bit the gas got the water on give it a boil and we’ll drop in an old gray teabag in the meantime got my little Swiss Army Bolding cup I can show you that these are I think these originated Swiss Army uh quid couple of quid go Outdoors as you know if it didn’t come from go Outdoors it’s no good drops a teabag in that time we’re almost on the boil we getting there o ex O X hero the bells are [Music] in it’s a quter to 1 in the afternoon old great tea bags dryings important to drop morning everybody Welcome to daily Vlog number five July um 5th of July obviously 2024 uh election results are in the political color of the country has changed from Blue to Red well that means who knows more things change probably not uh the Great British press Nel farage they did a good job in making sure that the uh rightwing vot was split to allow the labor in so we now have it’s not the rightwing labor party which certainly isn’t left wing and uh so same same sh1t different day basically different color um GRE party got I think they’ve got four seats I know our green count improved in Mansfield um apparently it’s a landslide victory for labor I’m sure it is a landslide victory for labor I don’t believe it’s a victory for the country I don’t think blue or red would have been a victory for the country I think we uh in my personal opinion of course I think we need serious bit of uh reconstruction in the country political but never mind I’m sure it will help me long term with regards pension people with pension age uh benefits always good for benefits of the labor party uh always good for legally taxing the rich although I don’t believe that pretty good at keeping the stat grow for us clbs who just have to P off and go to work or retire or whatever good for us um there been no increase in Social housing there be no increasing pairing of bottles that’s all cast in stone for good probably four years of blaming the previous administration or previous government quite rightly so I guess but you know we don’t have to sit and blame it we need to get offer back Sid and do something about it let’s hope we do anyway I actually filming a video for my a longterm a video cuz we’ve been Notting him and we just start film te an ear gray that’s steeping away there nicely then yeah right I’ll bring it back in a bit the old gray is just about brewed fact let me give you a look at it just give it a bit of a a slot round leave the rest of it just do a bit longer I thought it didn’t quite smell like you gr believe it’s Lady Gray in fact I’m sure it’s Lady Gray just doesn’t quite have the same pungency still very nice right I’m sit and enjoy this bring you back going be
