Bought a $20 29” mongoose bike earlier today because I wanted to have a project for fun and I want to start by servicing and chroming these forks… all the videos I’ve seen on how to take it apart show unscrewing a nut but this one has none, any idea how to do it? Can message me in DMs too

Probably can’t. Looks like a real cheap fork
Low end bike forks do not have coil springs or hydraulic dampers that need servicing. This is a very poor photo is it’s hard to tell but cheap mongoose bikes often come with forks that just have a rubber bump stop in them and don’t really do anything much in terms of compression or rebound dampening. I don’t think there is anything to service. Certainly not something I’d want to spend a lot of time or money on “chroming” whatever that entails. Good luck.
