[Music] hey guys I’m bear and I’m turtle and this is Lake IBC this is a gorgeous Lake in the Bavarian Alps the Bavarian Alps were absolutely beautiful we were there last year and that lake is probably the prettiest Lake that I’ve seen in the Alps besides Lake bled maybe and we’ll get to that here in a month or so but uh beautiful beautiful place the reflection was awesome zook speeds behind it we didn’t get to go up there because it was like too snowy to hike and unfortunately there was no Oktoberfest at zugspeed it’s the year that we were there and we’ve been doing this whole series on what to do around Oktoberfest so if you’re watching this you should definitely try to do the zoo speech one I hear really good things yeah hopefully it’s open this year I don’t know if it is or not but even if it’s not you should go to Lake IBC and walk around it I think we spent like two hours just walking all the way around it taking a bunch of Instagram pictures and um odd thing was there was people who only went there for like 15-20 minutes I think it was part of like a guided thing where they do like all three of them but I really think that’s a waste and we’re gonna go do some hiking there in a little bit but first we wanted to enjoy the morning where it’s a little less crowded here I think my brothers who are mainers or Maniacs I like to call them are going to go for a swim but not me we finally got some good weather so we’re gonna try to enjoy it and make the best of it [Music] if you get here early enough you won’t have to pay the 18 Euros to park up by the hotel for the first four hours and it’s really an easy beautiful hike up to Lake IBC and you can see Zouk speeds from there it’s really worth doing this is what the parking lot looks like and we got here like just in time there was these four sites left so I suggested always save whatever money you can and when you walk from the parking lot first you’re going to go in like this open field area but pretty soon you get into the woods that’s actually where the trail begins and I love all these Bavarian Trails they remind me kind of of like the Pacific Northwest you know tall trees Moss nice shade and then the view of the lake is just a plus and I do have to tell you that for the most part Bavaria is a very clean place you can tell if they take care of it and they go out a lot of the hikes we went on were a lot less commercial and a lot less crowded than these but this one there was one really disappointing part of it one of the side effects of covid is that we have some added pressure on the ecology as far as garbage is concerned I picked up a little bit along the beach but mostly everything looks clean when you’re on trail but when you get off Trail and you go up to like get a different view on the top of the hill well it’s a really unfortunate is a lot of people have defecated up there and they brought their toilet paper but you can’t really dig down in this so it’s kind of a disgusting off-trail experience here and if you guys come here go to the bathroom at the hotel before you go on the hike because that’s totally disgusting and there’s actually garbage cans right along the way so I hope that this is all either accidental or whatever but it’s not that hard guys this Trail actually goes all the way around the lake and it’s really well maintained I think you might even be able to bring like a wheelchair because it’s really nice and compact which is awesome and when you get about halfway that’s when you really can see the lift and you just you just see that view of the beautiful colors the water and then you got the mountains in the backdrop and it just looks like a postcard yeah on a really calm day when there’s no wind Rippling on it the reflection I’ve seen some pictures that were just unbelievable and there’s all this great like nature there and we got to watch these ducks swimming and it wasn’t just the Ducks swimming it was actually my Mainer Brother since so they jumped in swam around for a little longer than I would have been willing to swim around but really when they were getting out even they were cold because the breeze that was causing those ripples was blowing at about 45 degrees and then a wind chill down really cold for a Floridian I can tell you that what really makes Lake IBC so special are those mountains and usually when people go to Lake IFC they’ll go up to the mountains and there’s two main Peaks there’s Alps pizza and there’s zuke speed say and there’s cable cars that take you to either and we were supposed to do Alps pizza and I looked at like the normal temperatures and it was supposed to be just slightly over freezing but it’s late September there and it’s very unpredictable and so they got an early heavy snow and they weren’t letting you go up there without like special equipment I don’t know if that was like snow shoes or those little strappy things yeah but we don’t have those we’re from Florida and so we did not go up there which was kind of sad because Alps pizza was the one that I really wanted to do because we’re hikers and you’ll see that a lot if you’ve been watching our Channel we like to go on beautiful hikes it helps beats is like this series of different cable cars the hikes to cable cars the hikes you pay one price and you get to go wherever you want to go and look forward to going back there when it’s a little bit warmer and seeing it yeah I also want to see that Viewpoint it’s like alpsy X or something it’s like the shape of an X it seems pretty cool maybe if we can get a drone that can handle the winds we’ll get some cool Drone footage but for now we got this off of envato and the other cool Peak that a lot of people will go to is zuke’s pizza which is the tallest and the cool thing about Duke speed say is it’s right on the border between Germany and Austria so you can go either from the Germany side or from the Austria side and there’s another really cool Viewpoint and there’s like a weather station it kind of looks like it’s straight out of like a Bond film or something and um yeah that would have been way too cold so maybe a different time of year we will have to do that and if you guys like skiing which uh I like skiing I don’t know if dad likes skiing no no we were just in Finland and I did the first skiing and I think like it was four months ago in my butt is still bruised and I’m not much of a skier and uh but but you should ski there it’s very beautiful Austria is wonderful the tea roll areas some of my favorite areas of Austria we’re going to share some videos about Austria coming up and we’re going to do a whole lot more of the Alps we had such a great time so I hope you guys are enjoying it and I hope this is inspiring you to go see Bavaria you will not regret it and as always find yourself on a journey and speaking of really awesome things next week on the galavanthropologists we’re gonna go see some ruins again I’ve missed my life in ruins we’re going to see the Roman Fortress of Claudia and the castle Ehrenberg and then we’re going to go to probably a more well-known site in Germany this is Neuschwanstein and this is a really beautiful castle and a lot of people recognize it and interestingly enough it actually made my bucket list there wasn’t a whole lot on this trip that actually made my bucket list but that was like number 99 so it was even in my top 100. yeah and the fritters there made my bucket list after the fact yeah you’ll have to tune in next week because I gotta tell you if you don’t eat the fritters when you go to Neuschwanstein it’s almost like you didn’t even go foreign [Music]
