Would anybody in this Reddit group be able to tell me what this contraption is used for? Or perhaps what it is called? Or the brand/make?
The person who used to live here was a bike nut.
My assumption is this is some kind of repair unit for fixing bikes.
I am one of the new tenants who has moved into the apartment and we don’t know what it is.

Doesn’t look like any bike repair stand I’m familiar with. Google image search returns a lot of studio camera stands that are similar, so probably a photography group would help you more.
It is a studio camera stand, and a nice one. From back in the days of large-format film cameras. Wouldn’t work very well to hold bikes though. Someone might want it, you could get a few bucks for it if you have photo studios in your city, I would think.
