I recently got this second-hand bike and all seemed well but the seat it stuck. The screw that goes through the hole to adjust the height was there before, and the seller said to just take it out and put a screwdriver in the hole to loosen the seat rod. I took the screw out and it’s just not moving at all. Not an inch. If you zoom in you’ll see that I’ve bent one edge already with the screwdriver, there’s a bit of space at the back but not at all at the front (where my theory that it was glued comes from). This is my third second-hand bike and tbh the series of events have been very frustrating so I don’t want to go down an equally frustrating fruitless path, should I just get a brand new bike and can this be fixed ?

Wasn’t glued but likely friction welded itself together. If there is absolutely no movement when twisting and pulling upward, might be best to look for a new bike / frame
Stop with the screwdriver. Seller gave you terrible advice.
If you’re lucky you can easily get it out with a can of freeze off. Just spray the whole bottle of it on the seat post and twist the saddle as hard as you can.
If it’s really stuck you’ll have to melt the seatpost with lye(caustic soda)
