Was in the market for a new gravel bike, coming from a 2018 Diverge, and got on a roll with trying to create a bit-of-everything ride to suffice road and gravel now that I’m getting out of the road racing scene.
Part of this came down to finding a stable endurance geometry that didn’t feel like a boat on the road, so at 195cm (6’5”) with an 89cm (35in) inseam, I went with a size L Grizl.
Way under-sized per what Canyon markets the build as, but pretty much perfect for my intentions.
The L is only 5mm longer than my road reach. Added 120mm stem compared to my 130on the road. Grizl geometry made for a decent bit more stack which was intended but most significantly increased chainstay length, which I’ve always wanted to try even on a road frame.
Added an XPLR groupset with a 48t chainring (barely fits!), 40cm Enve aero handlebar and and some light Zipp 303. It’s a blast. I really like having more rear-center for stability on the road and gravel but it still feels pretty light on its feet even with gravel tires.
Has Conti Terra Speed 40mm tires on there now, I’ll probably but some wide road rubber on the Zipps and get an even lighter weight shallow depth (think Specialized Terra or Light Bicycle/China carbon build) for gravel tires.

Beautiful build. Was just looking around to see how TerraSpeeds mate with 303s. I’d like the 50m version for my Grizl.
While I’m at it, what did you use for tape and valve stem on the Zipps? is the Z kit “the way” or is success being had with Muc Off or others?…
