The 2024 Tour de France is underway and so far it has been action packed, but alongside all the action, some of the bikes the riders are on are almost as special as the race itself. Sam Gupta lists 7 of his favourite road bikes in this years race. From Pogacar’s Colnago, to Mark Cavendish’s Wilier Filante SLR there are a lot of good looking bikes. Red Bull Bora-Hansgrohe are also riding some beautifully painted Specialzied S-Works Tarmac SL8’s which may be some of the best looking bikes ever ridden by a team.

the Tour of France is well and truly underway and at the time of filming we’ve already seen the first three stages which have delivered some brilliant action so now feels like a good time to take a look at some of the best looking bikes which we can all enjoy rolling across our screens we’ll start with a man who has just clinched the yellow Jersey and is arguably the race favorite Teddy paga however I’m not going to be talking about his race bike No in fact and you may have missed it but kago put together a mighty impressive bike for the team presentation paga could be seen riding a V4 RS but in a completely new paint scheme with special gold touches said to cost a whopping 23,000 Karo did not hold back when it fitted a solid gold jewel in the front as the Ace of clubs the bike features gold to France logos on the fork with gold decals on the frame and seat post and the spokes themselves even look like they’ve had the gold treatment the bike was spec much like his race bike with a full Duo race group set carbon tide chain rings and brake rotors as well as an Envy cockpit and Wheel sets this surely has to be one of the prettiest bikes out there the attention to detail is something else and is absolutely deserving of one of the greatest Riders to ever compete in the sport it’s just a shame that this particular bike won’t see any racing action the man currently sat second in the GC is none other than Remco he put in a mighty impressive effort to drag himself from the yellow Jersey group over to the attacking pagat and bingo meaning he’s kept himself in the fight and he did all of this on board a very eye-catching specialized s Works Tac sl8 painted well in time for the Tour remco’s Bike has been given a flashy finish thanks to a mix of a rose gold and chrome paint job which can be predominantly seen on the rear of the bike however the same effect can also be found on his helmet and his cockpits the fater black keeps things classy and remco’s name can also be found on the top tube that’s not the only special thing about this build though because his bike has also been fitted with some new release wheels from specialized in-house brand rille Remco is running on the rille CLX team Wheels which feature carbon Spokes and Polished hubs compared to the normal CLX 2os these wheels claim to save a further 120 g making them pretty lightweight which I’m sure Remco will be hoping helps them out when the road points up however when the Riders hit the high mountains I am expecting Remco to switch those Wheels out to the alpinist wheels for some further weight reductions no paint job will ever be as special as the man himself but after a valiant ride to battle the intense heat of stage one and two Mark Cavendish will soon be facing the Sprint stages he’ll be taken to them on board his Villa phante SLR but in a beautiful paint Scheme estana have had the joy of riding some beautifully painted bikes since their partnership with Vila and Cav’s bike for the tour is only a continuation of this perhaps a nod to his previous World Championship win the bike features a splasher rainbow watercolors on the cockpit head tube down tube top tube and Fork the overall result is really impactful and utterly classy and if you hadn’t guessed it already I am of course a huge Cavendish Fanboy so fingers cross project 35 is a roaring success whatever happens though for what may be his final tour he’s certainly riding it in style sticking with team aana for one more bike I think vila’s newly released vertic Caray SLR is looking absolutely fantastic in the pelaton the green colorway looks absolutely brilliant in my opinion I love how the green really stands out and is so easy to spot the Bold color feels like a bit of rest bite from what we usually see on pro bikes and since this is the Italian Brand’s new lightweight bike I’m expecting it to look even better when we get into those mountains a rider we’ve not seen too much of so far is the current world Champion Matti of vandero he’s riding the canyon Air Road and after plenty of leaks we’re expecting a new air road to pop up fairly soon but I think his air Road in the World Champ color scheme looks really really good it’s clean and classy and I’m excited to see it come alive under a rider that is bound to set some Sparks and lights there’s one team which is featuring a new sponsor for the tour to France and boy oh boy I think the way these bikes look has taken us all by surprise well they certainly have for me Red Bull Bor hands Growers specialized ESX tarmac sl8 look absolutely brilliant when Red Bull decides to sponsor a team the resulting liveries always look quite cool and the team’s new bikes are no exception they are absolutely stunning The partnership has resulted in one of the cleanest Integrations of a title sponsor and bike paint Scheme the only time that comes to mind as being this good would be when mappe was in the sports the Riders are all now sporting Red Bull helmets and new kits and to be honest I’m excited to see Primo rogl come to life and see what he’s capable of at this race because it’s safe to say he certainly looks the part yet to make a big splash at the tour French team ag2r have been in possession of a brand new van risal named the fcr pro the bike looks the to be the Brand’s dedicated AO bike now despite many of the big bike brands moving away from having dedicated climbing and AO bikes van risal clearly still believes in the philosophy the frames used during stage 2 had a beautiful finish and we understand that the paint was applied using a water transfer method meaning that each frame is unique the team’s leaders Oliver n and Felix SCA were using the bike and as the UCI rules State all equipment used in compet comptition must be commercially available within 12 months so watch out because a new bike is clearly on the horizon from the budget race bike brand Israel premere Tech were also the recipients of some specially painted bikes as Factor delivered a fleet of special edition toour of France Ostro vam frame sets claimed to represent the artistic and cultural history of France as well as reflect the evolution of the Ostro brand these bikes certainly do look quite impactful it looks like the brand has made use of some red and blue paint creating a paint splatter effect on which a holographic rainbow Factor logo has been placed a nice job and no doubt we’ll see these bikes out in the Breakaway lastly we have the newly released medone from Trek under the Riders of the little Trek Squad I can’t actually say I’m the biggest fan of the stock team colorway sure it does fit in with the team’s branding but I think it looks a bit basic and a little little bit uninspiring however as one of the newest bikes to be released in time for the tour it’s going to be exciting to see how the ride is Jael with the bike I was hoping Trek would have sorted mads pedison out with a special paint job in the same way they did last year but what’s important is that he gets the chance to show what the new lightweight AO bike is capable of doing in the Sprints there’s a lot of new paints and bikes at this year’s tour
