Just bought a bike with these Mavic Ksyrium Elite Wheels and I was wondering if these are safe to ride. The video is of the rear rims and I’ll include a picture in the comments of the front rim (which looks less concave). If they’re not safe, is it worth replacing the rims myself or is it best to just get a new set or wheels for both (or maybe just one) of the wheels? I really appreciate your help! I couldn’t find any wear indicator instructions for these rims so if there is one please excuse my ignorance.
Can I ride with these rims?

The front rims

You can ride on them, as the brakes will fit into the shape. They are quite worn, so new rims would be a good idea in the near future. I find it interesting how the rear brake is more worn than the front, they should be worn moreso in the front with proper braking.
‘Can I ride…’ yes. ‘Are they worth it…’ depends on what you paid. ‘How long will they last…’ that’s relative but with regular use, not long at all.
Start shopping. Those wheels are 15-20 years old. They will crack along the brake track before they fail. You can prolong their life by lowering tire pressure.
There are still some choices on the market for rim brake wheelsets in the 1500-1700g range, but not as many.
Nah. Time for a new bike. /s
On a scale of 1 to Sheldon Cooper, how paranoid are you.
Look at this chump using a 10 of spades.
Any proper biker would use an Ace card.
