Last Christmas, my grandpa gave me his old road bike, and I've decided to turn it into a fixed gear. One time, when my friends and I were doing laps together, a random guy approached us and told me that my bike is unsafe and that I can't skid on it, even though I've done many tricks on this bike and haven't had an accident before.

You can do what you want. But when you do it drive it!
It’s pretty silly to disassemble a fully functional 70’s 80′ road bike to make a conversion. Smarter to find an old road bike with busted components and start there. My daily is an 87/88 Bianchi Sport SX. It’s indestructible and skids like any track bike would. Ride want ya want!
Now its done, looks fine.
Maybe put a brake.
Which reason has the guy given you why you couldn’t skid?
