[Music] wow it’s windy up here windy so we’re at Alexandra Palace yeah enjoying the view it’s like iconic is this your first ride on an E20 it is actually my first ride on so a few but haven’t rid many yet [Music] yeah who are you typically selling them to what kind of people um a lot of parents um professional as well so people that want to commute to work which is great so if they get a bit tired they can jump on the train fold the bike up and off they go yeah um basically people starting to get back into cycling again cuz I think a lot of people do tend to do that when they get into their sort of like late 20s early 30s right okay so yeah it’s a reconnecting option I think that’s the good thing about blik is that you can pay a monthly subscription like a phone contract and you get an ebike straight away you you’re not committed and you don’t have to for out however much ebikes are which we know are quite expensive on the pocket straight out but the good thing is that you can pay monthly and then you have um insurance cover for theft yes yeah and you know damages or vandalism which is great and you get free free services with like as well um over the course of your subscription so that’s really helpful what’s the user Journey like you can pop on line you can select the bike that you’re kind of interested in say if you like three bikes we will offer you a test ride and you can try them out and you talk to a human and we go through everything and you get to know which bike you actually want to take on how does the insurance side of things work so the insurance is basically fully comprehensive so if your bike is stolen whilst it’s locked locked outside um you just report it and then we we do all the insurance process for you it’s just a very convenient and easy way to own a bike it really is peace of mind have you tried the power mode yet no whoa oh wow that’s so easy up this hill that’s really good want see here again that pedal assist was great like to put it up to the number five just felt effort there so do you find when you when you speak to um new potential customers that there still some people are nervous about ebikes and how they respond with ebikes you’ve got obviously the worry about the battery and you know the hazards but they’re really for not very reputable bike companies that kind of do conversion kits that’s where the worry comes from it’s not just ebikes I think cycling people are scared of it especially in London or on busy roads is daunting yeah but the great thing about an ebike is you can wear your normal clothes you don’t have to wear light C and it kind of opens up your your like your city your town because you’ll go a bit further than you usually would on a normal push bike you think well I’ve got the electric I can probably do another five miles quite comfortably where I would probably ride to Central London meet friends for like food go for a dinner if I had a push bike I probably wouldn’t as easy do that interesting it’s about sweating and changing clothes and got redo your makeup you know these are things you have to think about as a cyclist so it takes the hassle out of cycling completely it makes you more mobile also like being female being on the road I feel like I’m advocating for women to see me and go oh I can actually get on the bike I can ride to work it’s you know it’s not awful what sort of age groups have have interested or buying from you I’d say anything from like mid 20s upwards we get we get a wide range we also get some students as well that you know can’t afford to pay the you know the travel costs they’ve gone up considerably and you pay for the bike monthly and that’s your overhead and you’ve got travel you can go out on the weekends on it explore so on our way back to Aly P yay would be without a hill climb yes it you ready well yeah definitely now I’ve got assist I can give this a go quite easily are you going full assist right put up to five now so it feels really easy I’m going easy on my Cadence and it’s just I’m going to go for it you’re beating me what’s going on easy as pie you know your instinct as a cyclist is to push on the Cadence to try and get up the hill but with an ebike you don’t have to do that you just keep the same Cadence and the bike does the work here’s the prize yay here we are back at the top of the hill hey lovely to meet you yeah thank you very much great to meet you too
