Hi all, first post in this group.
I have not owned a BMW since 1987… and not owned any kind of bicycle for 20 years so please go easy on me!
I just bought a well used Blank Tyro with 20” wheels and 20.4” top tube. My intentions are to tidy it up a bit, make some modifications for fun, and mostly use it to ride along with my little boy who has just started riding a bicycle himself.
The bike is completely stock, but the first thing I noticed is that the rear tyre is catching/rubbing quite badly against the chain stays part of the frame, and also on the brake calipers. So much so that the wheel takes a bit of force to rotate.
The tyres are the stock 20×2.3” but they genuinely seem too big.
I have tried adjusting/moving the wheel slightly but no position seems to clear the brakes or frame.
The tyres are inflated to about 50psi each (says Max 65)

Sorry, my mistake, tyres are 2.4” not 2.3”
You have a few options on fixes here but this isn’t an uncommon thing to happen. I’m just gonna list a few options for ya.
– true your wheel
– add a link to your chain so your wheel isn’t slammed on your dropout
– pull your wheel back (if the chain shows slack)
– buy a thinner tire
