Probably chain ring but I would absolutely check all components when I take the chainring off.

It’s possible that the crank arm retaining bolt is loose and the crank arm has come half off the end of the axle.

You may need up to a full bb overhaul, it’s hard to say without actually checking it, as if things have been loose for a while the insides could be a mess. Definitely some things are out of place or bent too.

Something seriously wrong here, my best guess is a bent bottom bracket spindle.
