Hi Guys,
Last trip i started starte noticing that my carbon Canyon Neuron is making a cracking sound when pedalling.
Its getting pretty bad al of the sudden now. Last trip was a bit wet and in the beginning it was cracking and when I went tru a puddle it was over.
Now i gave it an other run and its way worse.
What can it be? Bottom bracket maybe? And fixable myself?
See the video for an example

Can’t give too much advice but always start your diagnosing with a clean bike make sure there is no grime anywhere in your drivetrain 9/10 times my problem is just a dirty bike. Good luck
That’s a click. If your carbon was cracking, the sound would quicken in frequency and then break. (I make carbon products.)
Unfortunately you have to check a lot of parts on the bike. Suspension pivots, pedals, seatpost binder, headset bearings, crank spindle bearings, saddle rails. These problems are notoriously difficult to track down. Could also be the rear shock unit.
It’s so hard to tell but it sounds most like a mis indexed derailleur. Check the master link, also check the chain link by link to see of its binding.
My neuron was doing something like this, was loose hardware in the pivots.
Mine sounded similar, turns out it was the seat/dropper post
I also have a carbon Neuron. The first and easiest is check that the seat rails aren’t creaking. They might be dirty and incorrectly torqued. Also, make sure the rear quick release is pretty snug, and make sure those rear pivot bolts in the frame aren’t coming loose. This is a somewhat common issue with Neurons. All of that will take just a couple of minutes. After that, verify the bottom bracket is clean and torqued in there correctly. Then, check the bottom bracket shell of the frame, I’ve seen a fair number of cracked ones on the Neuron facebook page. If cracked, warranty claim.
