The video is too fast for me to see exactly what is going on, but it looks like you are pulling up on the bars. You actually want to push the bike forward/down to match the landing slope.

It’s actually really easy to do. I can’t jump or bunny hop but I can do small drops with the right technique.

There are some great YouTube videos on how to do it.

  2. That looks sketchy as fuck and probably would have gone really badly on a bigger drop. You keep pulling up like that and you’re going to end up slamming the front end back down on a bigger drop and have a bad time. There are some really good drop videos out there that should allow you to compare your form and show you where you’re off, but to me it looks like you’re pulling up on the bars instead of pushing the bike forward.

Too much movement in the upper body. Looks like you pulled in/up which didn’t allow you to push out appropriately. This is evident by the concaved chest and short t-rex arms on the push.

  4. Go and have a lesson. The technique(s) is(are) way more subtle than this. Your way too enthusiastic and on a bigger drop you will dead sailor and die.

You are too tall on the bike.
At the run-in, drop your chest more towards the bar and lower your hips even more.
As your front wheel goes over the edge, move your hips backwards fast and straighten your arms at the same time to allow for your body to move to the rear temporarily so that the front wheel won’t dive immediately.
It seems to me that you are trying to do something similar to this, but as you are riding too tall, you can’t move your hips enough, so you end up pulling the bar upwards.
