Doing some maintenance after an event today and noticed a weird little piece of metal about 1x1cm wedged between my FD and frame. I poked at it with a screwdriver and it wiggled around and fell out. It has a tiny little piece of double stick tape on it so I’m thinking it maybe belongs at or near where it was? What is it? Is it important?
Pix attached. It was originally located btw the FD and the frame near the screw shown in the pic.

There’s a support screw on your front derailleur, you can see it poking out the back in your third pic. That plate goes between the screw and your frame so it doesn’t damage it.
