They all retract a bit, but the inside pistons seem to keep going while outside don’t. In the past I’ve used dot fluid to lubricate the pistons, but sram says not to. Just trying to get the outsides to push evenly with the inside so that I don’t have rubbing on the inside. Any tips? Don’t think I need to bleed, no squishiness. However it is extremely difficult to push the pistons back in so maybe there is too much fluid in the system. Contact point is adjusted out.

you can push against the more active pistons with something to make both sides meet somewhere in the middle

  2. Those look fine. All the pistons are moving in unison. You can clean the pistons and reset them, but in my experience they will just return to exactly where they are. They are not centered but it really doesn’t matter. They are still applying equal force to the pads.

What you have to watch out for are sticky pistons. Where one doesn’t move at all. Or one doesn’t move until well after the other 3 do

  3. You’re able to reseat them, look for a quick how to.

Put the pads back in, centre the calliper and away you go.

That video is amazing. Glad I went against Srams advice . Now they work perfectly. Q tip and dot fluid and the pliers trick and the 4mm trick were awesome. Thanks!

  5. They all receive the same pressure so the ones with the least friction will end up moving the most. But when they make contact with the disk pressure will be routed to the slower ones and they will all equalize. The square O-rings should retract them similar amounts once they reach max extension against the disk. If they’re too problematic, then pull the pistons out and give everything a good cleaning and reinstall. Video posted by another guy/girl should be pretty helpful.
