Basu bikes made in Spain this is the Venter model actually a really really good price but let’s take a look at the Quality first up some lovely paintwork and they’ve even fitted a frame protector as standard nice touch and they’ve actually painted over the front Mech mounts as well which is quite nice to see um and in here this all looks very very clean there’s no sharp edges all looks nice and they have actually bothered to face this surface and this outer surface it does taper towards the back but not a place where it’s going to affect the bottom bracket installation so good work basso Mech hanger is super solid more frame protection this side looks nice and oh my God they’ve actually installed the brake adapter correctly with the right washers the right circlip the right size bolts that hardly ever happens and the brake mounts are flat oh my god I’ve just wet myself

  1. They all seem to be coming back to Europe, I think BIANCHI is relocating to Italy in 2024 and itโ€™s already increased their order book

  2. I really like the Diamante SV design wise. Plus the fact that they are actually manufacturing in Europe. Kudos to them. Nice to see that the quality is there as well.

  3. I have reservations about bike brands in terms of their origin and where the majority of their bikes and components are actually made.

Orbea from Spain, also make quality bikes but they don't have the same marketing prowess as other brand names.

Historically I can't think of any brand name from its country of origin (with the exception of China) that is successful in doing everything in-house as well as exporting.

  4. I had a Basso Steel bike many years ago I sold it bรฉcause I had no place for all my bikes – Basso had the reputation to build high quality painting was far better than my Masi and Colnago bikes – no chrome (tube manufacturers prohibit chroming because of the whole process aggressive baths sanding etc)
    Thus they are indestructible

  5. Started watching your videos along with hambiniโ€™s recently, huge insight into how bad some manufacturers are with QC on bottom brackets. Nice to see thereโ€™s still good stuff available

  6. I have a Basso Venta as well and itยดs been a very lovely bike so far. Made in Italy carbon bike, a reasonable price, excellent quality. Had a budget left over for a saddle and wheel upgrades. And I have a matching blue Basso Gap from the 90s. Love this brand!

  7. O.k. then. Who produces the Venta model on contract for Basso in Spain? Is it the same factory which produces bikes for Orbea or BH? That is the way of the bike industry. Also, why was a brake mount adapter needed? Cheers.
