So have tried to move to waxing my own chain and attach to bike. Used a tool to size the new waxed chain and ive left the ends like this. I can get the one quick link into the left hand side but the right it won't go through. Have a shagged it?

You need to remove the other 2 outer plates, quick links are outer plates themselves and connect to inner plates.
In your photos the article on the LEFT is correct.
I rotate 2 chains here, should be 3 but my stuff gets pretty messy so I replace chains sooner rather than later.
One of these days I’ll actually get all my metal up to the scrap metal guy…
Thanks for help. Final symptom of failure is the chain keeps jumping on the big ring when pedaing, is that a sign the chain is too long?
