The 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships are taking place in Glasgow, so I decided to bike pack from my home in Northern Ireland across to Glasgow in Scotland to watch some of the cycling work championships. In this first video I cycle from home to the ferry, and then to Cairnryan in Scotland.

Most ferries require you to walk the bike on and off. Look like you got VIP service. How in blaze's do you average 18 mph with all that kit. I am in awe. Enjoy you blogs, wow.
Looking forward to pt 2!
good to see the ferry boarding process, thinking of doing this myself for a bit of bikepacking around Galloway
Long time since I averaged 18mph and that was in a bunch!
And to think they charge an extra tenner each way for the luxury of bringing the bike. It’s horrible if you disembark in the dark amongst the heavy haulage lorries. If you travel over as a big group on bikes you don’t even have the luxury of that little office. They might bring out some straps so you can lash your bike to the plumbing!
Grgh. Great video though. I raging at myself for not planning this trip for the men’s or women’s race.
