Like a handful of other posters in this sub, I rounded out the headset screw on my new Ultimate. I successfully loosened the headset to remove a spacer and torqued it back to spec (12nm) using my own torque wrench. When I went to loosen the bolt again to add lube to the headset bearing, it quickly rounded out and won't budge. I am dubious that 12nm was the accurate spec, as that seems very tight and what might have led to the rounding of the screw. But that is no longer here or there.

I have contacted Canyon Support, the required screw (EP0975-03, part of GP7066-02 Fork Clamp Kit) is not available in the US. They offered to let me return the bike, which I don't really want to do. Has anyone had luck sourcing this screw in the US? I imagine the LBS will be able to swap this part without too too much trouble?

Last resort, I can wait until it is back in stock in Canada and use a forwarding service…

Hey – I posted about this a few weeks ago and was able to get the part. I’m pretty sure I got one of the last ones in stock from the US. I would recommend using the chat bot on their website to see if they have any in their warehouse. They will also open a search request for you
