    Want to buy this used bike with GRX 600 but i am worried about the bad reviews the WTB rims and formula hubs get. I think the previous owner changed to a better wheelset but i cant tell from the pics and the shop is not being helpful.
    Anyone can help me to identify these wheels and confirm they are not the stock WTB i23?

    They look a bit like DT splines but i cant tell from the pics

    Im also concerned about the pressfit BB but can live with it as i really want the kingpin and i cant afford the new one.

      Those are enough hesitations that would drive me away from purchasing that bike, sorry there’s more out there, keep looking.

      This gen Topstone is a good bike- but with tech changing so quickly, this frame is starting to get outdated. The biggest tire you’ll be able to fit in the rear comfortably is a 38c, you may squeeze a 42 up front. I had this gen frame for a long time, and ultimately changed to something that could clear bigger tires. The kingpin was OK, but not life changing. I think the difference from 38c to 42c or bigger tire wise is enough to offset the amount of “comfy” you get from the kingpin in the rear. I’d search for the new gen Topstone frankly, or move on to another bike.

      I rented one of these over a weekend while traveling for work, put about 100km on it, and haaaaaated it. Geometry feels wacky af.

      I have a 2018 Topstone Carbon 105. I use the stock wheels (same rims and hubs as the 2021 I believe) and also have a road wheel set and then use the bike as both my main gravel and road bike. Used it for Paris Brest Paris last year, plus a handful of 100-300km gravel races over the years. 

      Have about 40,000km on it (75% road, 25% gravel) and still very happy with it for my usage.

      You’ll get more compliance out of 45-50mm tires than you will out of 38’s with a Kingpin rear end. There is no way I’d buy a gravel bike today that couldn’t fit a 45mm+ tire

      I do like how Cannondale don’t plaster their name on the downtime, but put it small on the top tube 👍🏻

      I guess it all depends on the price they want, also can’t you ask the seller about the hubs and wheelset?
