Nearing completion on this 1997 Ti Xizang resto project. Of the hundreds of restorations I’ve done over the years this one has proven to be my favorite. It rides so well on dirt and road – feels like flying. Took about a year to procure parts or have them made.
Paul bits, custom Saltair segmented fork made in SLC, XTR x Garbaruk cranks, XTR 11sp drive, DOOM Curve Bill Thrasher handlebars, Brooks Cambium, Dean Ti seat post, Velocity x SON & Real Components wheels, King Headset, Simworks tires & stem, Cobra top cap, and bags made by Kawa Design in SLC.

Very nice build! I guess with the triple triangle decals are unnecessary, are you planning to leave the frame bare? It does look super clean.
I’m in the early stages of a similar project with a ‘91 titanium Hei Hei frame and I love hearing that this is your favourite build so far! It’s at least a year away but I can’t wait for that first ride on mine.
Can I ask roughly how much the fork fabrication cost? Did you find a local frame builder and go from there? Finding the perfect fork is going to be one of the big hurdles for my project as well.
Beauty build. I have a ‘96 Voodoo D-Jab that I’ve had for a while but recently went through. And it’s now my favorite bike of all time. It rides like a dream. And it’s a ripper.
Something about 90’s titanium is just magical. Ti is common af now but back then it was a big deal and it shows in the quality of these bikes that the builders really respected it.
Love the Garbaruk ring on the XTR cranks. Always wanted to give this a go to give some of my 950 cranks some life. Nice build!
