I just bought a Yakima RidgeBack bike rack off of facebook marketplace. The rack is in great shape, and I love it…with one exception. There appears to be know way to place the bike on the rack without the pads of the rack pressing against part of the break cable mount (not sure the official name for this piece where the cable is attached to the top tube). It appears that most of the pressure would be on the piece that sticks out of the frame and holds the cable in place.
If I would have bought the rack new, I would have immediately returned it, but I can’t do that with marketplace. Has anyone used a rack like this before and had this issue? Is it likely to damage the bike or affect the integrity of the break cable. On the one hand, I don’t think it will be an issue (the parts that are being pressed on don’t look like the would bend or break easily), but on the other hand it keeps nagging at me…

That cable holder looks pretty tough but I wouldn’t transport it like that. At the very least get some dense foam and glue it to rack.
You could try to use the bottom bar of your bike frame to mount to the stand. Your bike will be higher up and lopsided but I’ve had to do that before with certain bikes and it’s fine.
How hard is it to unhook the main cable from the split? If it’s a quick release thing I would do that and scoot the bike to the left a little (or turn the bike so the drive side is out so it’s not hanging into traffic at all) and mount the bike right behind the cable guide. Just don’t forget to reattach the cable before your ride.
I don’t know of a single bmx bike that comes with a bottle cage mount. I think you’re lost, OP.
You have to adjust the position of the bike so the cable guide isn’t directly under the clamping area. I had a carbon Niner frame get damaged from a rack clamp (lost the cable guide). Fortunately it got warrantied but it was still inconvenient and avoidable
