A bike from Marin, seems to have at least a front brake and a front derailleur

  2. 1998 or later aluminium hybrid. That’s when the brakes were introduced. Up until 1996/7 they were steel, but Marin switched to Alu/ti for all their high end frames after that. I can’t find catalogs for those later years to say what year it is exactly. The 1996 Point Reyes is legendary.

Cool bike! First thing you should do is get rid of that “Power Modulator” so your front brake can work properly.

  4. Please align your brakepads properly. Not just in terms of rotation, but position too.
