I’d try to file down the slipped edges back into flat surface and try again. Adjustable wrench is a bad tool choice. If that doesn’t help, alternatives are a pipe wrench or hammering a smaller size socket onto the nut.

File two opposite sides down so they are flat and if it doesnât catch on the wrench anymore because itâs too small shim it with a penny or other thin coin

In addition to what others have advised, gently heating the nut with a blowtorch or heat gun will help
