I really want to pick these up but I heard the mechanism that they have, with the spline been already installed into the right arm is a pain to deal with. Yet , I’m not really too worried about the installation process. I just wanna know how it feels and does it hold. I am used to buying Odyssey thunderbolts but I am considering switching up between these or thee Primo stevie Churchill’s or even the “ Fit blunt cranks.” Please let me know your guys input. I am really digging the raw look on these and I do like chrome.
I am avoiding proifle and nothing to crazy like bullseye,or cook bros ….
This will be for a 24” cruiser /raceframe…

So if you are familiar with Thunderbolts, what’s the issue? Thunderbolts are 2-piece also.
I only find it an issue if I need to adjust spacer on the non-drive side. And this happens what, every 13th blue moon or so, if ever.
Never ridden the substance cranks but I do run the blunt cranks in 165mm and I enjoy them a lot but they are on the heavier side for being a 24mm spindle but I haven’t had issues with them other then have to tighten every other week since I’ve been messing around with crank arm grinds and bb grinds but the cranks show no signs of cracks or extreme wear and tear. The raw on them look so fire with my blue frame.
i ran substance cranks in 165 for 6 years beat the hell out of them and they felt amazing and took a beating. i had them back in 2017 so maybe they are differnet but back then they were amazing
